Our Guardian Families are an important part of our breeding program. They allow our breeding dogs to live in loving, permanent family homes while remaining part of the Agape breeding program for a limited period of time.

Becoming a Guardian Family is a commitment and a partnership. We want to get to know you, your family, and the type of home and lifestyle you would provide for one of our dogs. There are no “perfect” answers—we simply want to determine whether our Guardian Program would be a good fit for both your family and the dog.

A Special Benefit of our Guardian Program

One of the wonderful benefits of becoming an Agape Guardian Family is the opportunity to receive a carefully selected breeding dog with no purchase price to the Guardian Family.

Agape Labradoodles pays for the health and genetic testing required to determine whether the dog qualifies for and remains in our breeding program, as well as expenses directly related to breeding.

Your Guardian Dog lives with you as your family companion. Just as with any family pet, the Guardian Family is responsible for the dog’s everyday care and expenses, including food, housing, grooming, training, routine veterinary care, vaccinations, medications, supplements, insurance, and other normal costs associated with caring for a dog.

When your Guardian Dog completes his or her breeding commitment—or if the dog does not qualify for our breeding program—the Guardian Family is responsible for the cost of the spay or neuter. Once the procedure has been completed and verified, complete ownership of your Guardian Dog will be transferred to you.

Location Requirement

Because Guardian Dogs need to be available for reproductive appointments, health testing, breeding, and other breeding-related needs, Guardian Families must live within approximately 60 miles of our reproductive veterinarian, currently located near County Line Road and E-470 in the Denver metropolitan area.

We understand that drive times can vary considerably depending on traffic, so eligibility is based primarily on distance rather than a specific travel time.
