We are often asked how the name labradoodle came about. It’s generally reckoned that this is thanks to an Australian breeder named Wally Conron. He introduced the name to describe a Labrador and Poodle cross as a service dog to the Royal Guide Dog Association in Australia.
However, the term had been used before. This was back in the 1950s, in a book entitled Into the Water Barrier, describing the early years of the legendary world speed record-setter, Donald Campbell. He used the name to describe his own dog.
So, that’s one starting point. Another will be the love affair between yourself and your family and any of our wonderful puppies here at Agape Labradoodles!
