Labradoodles are a high-energy breed. They usually need at least 20-30 minutes of exercise every day. But, being the active dogs that they tend to be, they would gladly welcome more activity. Walking isn’t your only option either. Here are some tips from Agape Labradoodles to make exercise more fun for you and your dog that will keep you both active.
Swimming
If you like to swim, your Labradoodle might just make an excellent swimming partner for you. Swimming is an excellent, low impact exercise for us and our dogs alike. This can be especially beneficial as your dog gets older, as Labradoodles can be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia.
Fetch
Playing fetch can be fun for you and your dog. It’s also a great form of exercise for them. To make a game of fetch more challenging, consider throwing the ball up an incline (you can use stairs if you’re indoors). You can keep things interesting by switching up the toys you use too.
Tug
Dogs love to play tug, and Labradoodles are no exception. Playing tug helps develop their muscles and helps build a bond between you and your dog.
Exercise is important for your Labradoodle’s health and well-being. Agape Labradoodles hopes that these ideas help you keep your dog happy, healthy and fit.
